What is therapy?

It’s not always easy to take the first step, but here you are. So maybe this is the sign you’ve been waiting for. Maybe it really is time to talk to a therapist.

I hope that you’re thinking about starting therapy for yourself, but if someone else encouraged you, please see it as evidence that they care about you and that they care about that thing, whatever it is, getting better.

We will start with a phone call and can decide from there what your goals are and how I can best support you. Therapy is an opportunity to have someone listen to you and put their energy into supporting what you want for your life.

A therapist can listen without judgement and without personal investment in your choices. The therapist wants what you want and may have some tools or guidance to help you achieve your goals or maybe figure out what they even are.

What I bring to our Sessions

My approach isn't just clinical—it’s human, accessible, and deeply relational.

  • Deep Pattern Spotting: I excel at connecting the dots in human behavior, helping you see the underlying themes in your life.

  • Warm & Relatable: My style is casual and humorous. I’m not a "blank slate" therapist; I’m a real person in the room with you.

  • Empathetic Advocacy: I am a natural helper, caretaker, and cheerleader. I’m here to be your strongest advocate.

  • Action-Oriented: I don’t just listen; I actively help you problem-solve with high emotional intelligence, creativity, and clear communication.

Shared Experience

I’ve walked the path, and I understand the modern struggle because I’ve experienced it myself.

  • I Know the Anxious Brain: I understand biological vulnerability and how your environment can reinforce it—not just from textbooks, but from personal experience.

  • I’m a Fellow Ruminator: I know what it’s like when the mind won’t hit the off switch. You don't have to explain that "stuck" feeling to me; I get it.

  • Recovering High-Achiever: I’ve navigated the pressure to be perfect and the need to please others. I’ve learned how to channel that drive into healthy balance, and I can teach you how to do the same.

My Approach to Wellness

I believe in modeling the life I help my clients build. Wellness isn't just a clinical concept for me; it’s a daily practice.

  • Intentional Living: My home is "tech-lite"—we prioritize real-world connection over digital noise.

  • Whole-Person Care: I practice what I preach: mindful breathing, yoga, moving my body, and choosing natural, healthy food.

  • Balance & Boundaries: Whether I'm coaching soccer or enjoying time at the beach, I prioritize sleep, fresh air, and boundaries because I know they are the foundation of a healthy, stable life.
